It all started Saturday 22 October, where we flew to Cairns with Vivi and Leif (Tinas parents). We hired a car and drowe directly Port Dougles where we spent our first night at the ???hmmm.
Well, we had some good time up there, went on up to Cape Tribulation and Mossman Gorge, and we were back in Cairns by Sunday evening - where we ate at our 'usual' place La Fettucina.
Monday was all day spent at sea, snorkling and eating on the Great Barrier Reef. Then it was time for me to head off to a new adventure onboard Spoil Sport....
Tuesday morning I flew in to Townsville, getting ready for my 7 days work as divemaster volunteer on a trip to the Coral Sea and the Yongala. To sum up the work as DM expo on the trip....rolling up towels!
Seriously....I'm sick and tired of putting wet towels in the dryer and to roll up the dry ones ready for the next dive. Besides that, it's not such a bad deal. You do run around most of the day, cutting oranges, drying towels, getting ice, drying towels, helping guests in and out of the water, drying towels, be on look out, drying towels, taking of the fins for the guests!!!!, drying towels...I guess you have got the picture by now, but at the end of the trip you know when to take a rest and when to be present.
As promised I had 2-3 dives a day - except for the full day on the Yongala where I made 4 great dives, including a fantastic night dive.
Tuesday: Departure Townsville evening
Wednesday: GBR, Bowl reef (2 dives)
Thursday: Coral Sea, Flinders Reef(2 dives)
Friday: Coral sea, Flinders Reef (3 dives)
Saturday: GBR, (2 dives)
Sunday: Waking up on the Yongala (4 dives including a night dive)
Monday: Leaving Yongala and returning to Townsville (1 dive)
